#100SmallPress
On December 1st 2025, the inaugural edition of 100 Notable Small Press Books went live on Literary Hub! Each year, for scores of reviewers will read traditionally-published books across genres from small, independent, U.S. presses. For the second edition, reviewers will read books published between December 1 2025 and November 30 2026. This will culminate in a list of 100 Notable Small Press Books published early December 2026.
Reviewers read literary fiction, story collections, poetry, memoir, essays, general nonfiction, romance, horror, sci fi/fantasy, YA lit, children’s lit, comics/graphic novels, and literature in translation. They are reading from publishers who pay all costs of book production and require no money up front from authors. We’ve defined small press as 50ish or fewer titles published per year, independently-owned, and not imprints of Big Five publishing houses.

Founder
Miriam Gershow
Miriam Gershow is the author of Closer (Regal House), Survival Tips: Stories (Propeller Books), and The Local News (Spiegel & Grau). Miriam’s stories appear in The Georgia Review, Gulf Coast and Black Warrior Review, among other journals. She founded 100 Notable Small Press Books in 2025. She received her MFA from the University of Oregon, and has since taught fiction to first-graders, retirees, and everyone in between.

Robin Van Impe
Robin joined #100SmallPress as a reviewer in 2025. In 2026, she'll be leading the project and coordinating all reviewers. Robin received her MFA from Emerson College, where she served as the Fiction Editor for Redivider. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming from the Boston Globe, Fourteen Hills, Bending Genres, and others. She was a 2024 finalist of the Arts & Letters Unclassifiable Contest and was shortlisted for the Smokelong Grand Micro Contest.
